399 states: "Inconsistent
NPI: The NPI number submitted in W1 is not consistent with
the NPI number submitted in the header record." This MDS
error message - 399 has been changed from a fatal record
error to a warning message. Will this change be permanent? |

error in the future. The NPI number (Section W1) is an
optional field at this time and can be left blank. |
