Sabrett Skinless Beef Frankfurters


This is provided as an update to the Public Health Alert dated October 14, 1999. On October 26, 1999 the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) advised the Department that Marathon Enterprises, Incorporated of Bronx, N.Y. has expanded its recall of "Sabrett" Skinless Beef Frankfurters because of suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall now includes both "Sabrett" brand and "Western Beef" brand Skinless Beef Frankfurters of all product code #s with the plant # 8854 in the USDA mark of inspection.

Product: "Sabrett" brand and "Western Beef" brand Skinless Beef Frankfurters in 16 ounce and 5 pound packages.
Product Codes:Recall expanded to include all product bearing any and all codes with the number "08854" located in the USDA mark of inspection.
