Office Of The Director
This Office is responsible for local public health policy and related planning components. It ensures OPHI’s mission to build core capacities and performance of the local health departments in New Jersey and the development of regional local public health systems for the delivery of essential public health services.
Performance Improvement And Development Program
This Program manages the implementation of N.J.A.C. 8:52: Public Health Practice Standards of Performance for Local Boards of Health in New Jersey (Practice Standards), provides leadership and technical liaison services for local public health performance improvement, monitors and evaluates practice and performance, assures the use of continuous quality improvement processes and best practices, and assists in the development of public health systems and regional strategic health planning through Governmental Public Health Partnerships.
Workforce Development Program
This Program builds core and leadership competencies in the local public health workforce; solicits, publicizes, and evaluates training programs; and manages the New Jersey Learning Management Network, a sophisticated web-based tool providing access to competency-based continuing education and supporting the requirements of Public Health Practice Standards of Performance for local public health workforce development.
Compliance, Licensure, And Enforcement Program
This Program oversees the examination and licensure of Health Officers and Registered Environmental Health Specialists in accordance with N.J.S.A. 26 and Licensure of Persons for Public Health Position, N.J.A.C. 8.7; and coordinates enforcement actions to assure compliance with licensure requirements and Public Health Practice Standards of Performance, N.J.A.C. 8:52. |
