Health and Senior Services Commissioner Heather Howard will discuss New Jersey’s 2008 Hospital Performance Report on a teleconference press briefing on Wednesday, September 17, at noon.

The report and related data charts will be available on the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services web site at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at www.state.nj.us/health/hpr.

The report, one of the Department's initiatives to improve the quality of care in New Jersey, includes information on how well each hospital performs in treating heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia and in treating patients undergoing surgery. This year, the hospital report includes four new measures related to pneumonia care and care of surgical patients.
