(Carteret) On Friday, September 24 Commissioner Alaigh will join the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the Shri Krishna Nidhi Foundation and the South Asian Total Health Initiative (SATHI) to Raise Cancer Awareness in the South Asian Community

Seeking better health outcomes for one of New Jersey’s fastest growing populations, DHSS, the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) has partnered with the Shri Krishna Nidhi (SKN) Foundation, SATHI and the Satrangi School of Fusion, to educate South Asian-Americans about their risks for cancer. 

This event will begin at 8 pm at the St. Demetrius Community Center, 691 Roosevelt Avenue, Carteret.

Following remarks from health professionals, the Satrangi School of Dance will perform a dance that represents the life of a healthy person who is diagnosed with cancer and has to deal with the emotional and physical issues surrounding the disease.
