On Thursday, September 9, Health and Senior Services Commissioner Dr. Poonam Alaigh will visit Trinity Episcopal Cathedral’s Healthier Heart Farmer’s Market at 801 W. State St. in Trenton.

As part of Minority and Multicultural Health Month in New Jersey, Dr. Alaigh will highlight Trinity’s important work in bringing affordable, healthy foods to low-income urban areas.  She will also welcome Trinity as the first religious congregation to join Shaping NJ, the state’s public-private partnership to reduce obesity and promote policies that can help make New Jersey’s communities healthier places to live.

The Healthier Heart Farmer’s Marker also offers blood pressure and glucose screenings, and other health education programs to members of the community.

Commissioner Alaigh will be joined at the 12:30 p.m. event by representatives of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
