The Indoor Environments Program in the Consumer, Environmental and Occupational Health Service of the Division of Epidemiology, Environmental and Occupational Health in the Public Health Services Branch of the Department of Health and Senior Services proposes to readopt without change N.J.A.C. 8:62, the rules establishing standards for lead certification. The notice of proposal appears in the March 21, 2011, issue of the New Jersey Register. N.J.A.C. 8:62, Standards for Lead Certification, establishes standards for the permitting of lead abatement workers, supervisors, inspectors/risk assessors, and planner/project designers, and the certification of training providers that provide lead worker training courses. The rules protect the health and safety of lead abatement workers and supervisors, building occupants and the public, including highly susceptible children, and protect the environment. The public has until May 20, 2011, to comment on the proposal. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must submit their comments in writing by regular mail to Devon L. Graf, Director, Office of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Office of the Commissioner, NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, # # # | |
