On Saturday, June 18, the second annual “One Force to Make a Difference” symposium will be held in Princeton to discuss the latest developments in ovarian cancer research, diagnosis and treatment from the perspectives of both patients and caregivers.
An ovarian cancer collaborative of 15 non-profit organizations is sponsoring the event, which will include a wide array of professional healthcare providers from hospitals and research centers in Philadelphia, Trenton, New Brunswick and Camden. They will discuss and share their latest research and treatment practices. Dara Marcozzi, Chair of the Ovarian Cancer Subcommittee, Task Force on Cancer Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment in New Jersey will deliver remarks.
Panelists include: Drs. Denise Connolly, Assistant Professor, Fox Chase Cancer Center; George Coukos, Celso Ramon Garcia Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Ovarian Cancer Research Center at Penn Medicine; Carolyn Gaukler, Capital Health; Tamara Minko, Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutics at Rutgers University; and David Warshal, head of the Division of Oncology, Cooper Cancer Institute, Camden.
The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 8:30 am and includes breakfast and lunch. The event will be held at the Educational Testing Service, Rosedale Road in Princeton. Gynecologists, nurses, health care providers, patients and their families are expected to attend. The symposium is approved for 5 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit hours.
