New Jersey Blood Supply is Critically Low

Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, Health Commissioner Mary E. O'Dowd and Brig. Gen. Michael L. Cunniff, the Adjutant General, will join 200 members of New Jersey's Army and Air National Guard Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the 4th and Goal Blood Drive in Sun National Bank Center in Trenton.

The blood drive be held from 10 am to 4 pm and is open to the public. Anyone who donates blood will have a chance to win tickets to the Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.

The blood drive is part of National Blood Donor Month and is the final event in an eight-month Super Community Blood Drive co-sponsored by the Department of Health, the NJ Workplace Blood Donor Coalition, and the 2014 NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee.

January is a critical time for blood donation. Due to cold weather, flu season and holidays, hospital blood supplies are at a critical low.
