Minority & Multicultural Health Month September 2009

The New Jersey Department of Health’ Office of Minority and Multicultural Health (OMMH) celebrates Minority and Multicultural Health Month—September 2009. The theme this year is Take Control of Your Health: Managing Chronic Diseases. Each year in September, the OMMH brings attention to the issue of health disparities in New Jersey. OMMH encourages New Jersey health care providers and community-based organizations to sponsor events throughout the month of September to raise awareness about chronic diseases, and their impact on the health and lives of minorities in the state. This year the Minority and Multicultural Health Month calendar of events will inform New Jerseyans of the many opportunities they have to participate in events that may improve their health.
