Puerto Rico Current Birth Certificate Extension
Puerto Rico has approved an extension of 90 days to the validity of their current birth certificates before they will move to the revised, more secure birth certificates. Please see the attached press release for more information on this. From the release: The purpose of the extension is to provide those Puerto Rico-born -- who may need a birth certificate for an upcoming transaction -- a three-month window to apply for and receive the new document during which time their current birth certificate will still be valid.
