The
College’s
Office of Outreach Programs coordinates The Gloucester City College Partnership
Program at Camden County College. College Bound is funded by the New Jersey
Commission on Higher Education and Camden County College. The program serves
students currently attending Gloucester City High School in Camden County,
NJ. It supports pre-college educational and enrichment activities that encourage
students to complete high school and successfully pursue postsecondary careers
in math, science, or technology. Grant funds provide for on-campus programs,
workshops and year-round educationally enriched activities. During the summer,
high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors participate in a college-prep
program at the Blackwood Campus of Camden County College and attend classes
taught by college professors, instructors and tutors. Supplemental instruction
also is provided on Saturdays during the academic year for program participants.
Additionally, the College provides a program advisor/counselor on site at
Gloucester City High School during the academic year. The goals of the program
include successful high school graduation with a college bound grade point
average, acceptance into post secondary institutions and post secondary persistence
for all program participants. |
