Comments from Rider University President – Dr. Mordechai
Rozanski: Dr. Rozanski provided welcoming comments
and an overview of Rider’s
history and prominent programs. He introduced Rider's student government
president, Mr. Steven Klemchalk, who talked about student leadership.

Executive Director’s Report: Ms. Oates commented on the AICUNJ Student
Leadership Day, encouraged students who are unable to attend a Commission
meeting to send comments through the Commission’s student
members, and commented on articulation and transfer efforts and
other initiatives.

Presidents’ Council Report: Dr. Yaw commented on the Presidents’ Council’s
November 13 business meeting and ongoing efforts regarding
a budget policy statement and articulation and transfer.

Long-Range Plan Update: Dr. Oswald commented on the feedback from stakeholders,
regarding priorities for the 2006 update and the next steps in
developing the draft update for consideration in December.

Adoption of Long-Term Capital Planning and Support Recommendations
for New Jersey Higher Education: The Commission adopted the recommendations
for submission to the Governor and Legislature.

Adoption of Policy Recommendations for Operating Support
of Senior Public Colleges and Universities in New Jersey: The Commission adopted
the recommendations for submission to the Governor and Legislature.

Fiscal 2008 Budget Recommendations: Ms. Oates indicated
that the Executive Committee will discuss the Presidents’ Council
draft budget statement with the Council Officers
and hopes to finalize a document
for consideration
in December.

EOF and EFA Update: Commissioner Collins commented
on the EFA annual conference and EOF preparation for its next meeting.

HESAA Update: Commissioner Smith reported on HESAA’s public
outreach efforts.

Comments from the Public: Dr. John Pace, President
of the Association of NJ County College Faculties commented on the long-range
plan and enhanced
outreach; Mr. Sharo Atmeh, student representative to the Rutgers
University Board of Trustees, commented on student efforts to promote
higher education.
