Division-funded services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are not an entitlement and are dependent on resource availability.

The Division is in the process of transitioning from a contract-based model of provider reimbursement to a Medicaid-based, fee-for-service model. This model, already successfully utilized in a number of states, allows for increased flexibility, increased choice, and an expansion of services available. Please visit our Fee for Service Implementation web page to learn more about the new system and to view important updates and announcements.

The system-wide shift to Fee for Service (FFS) is expected to take place in July, 2015. Once the new system is in place, adults seeking Division-funded services must be enrolled on one of two Medicaid waiver programs: the Supports Program or the Community Care Waiver (CCW). Enrollment on these waiver programs is based on assessed level of need, and the Division currently maintains a Waiting List for individuals requesting services through the Community Care Waiver.
