On
August 14, 1992, Mr. Lin was convicted of conspiracy to commit racketeering.
According to the underlying federal criminal indictment, Mr. Lin
was part of a criminal organization in New York known as the "Green
Dragons." The Green Dragons have been identified by law enforcement
officials as having engaged in a variety of illegal activities including
murders, assaults, robberies, extortions, establishment of an illegal
gambling business and bribery. Mr. Lin was accused of conspiring
with several of his co-defendants and participating in two armed
robberies on January 23, 1990 and September 7, 1990. |
