Update on Tabernacle Murders

Tabernacle Township, N.J. - State Police Detectives today continued the investigation into Thursday's tragic shootings of three children and their mother in a home at 39 Holly Park Dr. Two of those children, Nadia Harriman, 8, and her brother Nicholas Harriman, 14, were declared at the scene. Their mother Jeaninne LePage, 44, and Alexander Harriman, 11, remain in Cooper Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives with the Major Crime Unit and Troop C Criminal Investigations Office worked throughout the day and into the late night conducting interviews and collecting evidence. Last night, they made contact with the children's father and other friends of LePage. Detectives have spoken with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office to advise them of the findings. Although the investigation remains open there is enough evidence to issue these basic findings:

  • Jeaninne LePage is believed to have shot her three children and then turned the gun on herself
  • A pillow was used to muffle the sound of the gunshots. None of the other five people in the home said that they heard any shots
  • The weapon used was a revolver that was kept in the house and may have belonged to a relative who had passed away some time ago. The weapon was found in close proximity to LePage.
  • The shootings took place in one upstairs bedroom

The Burlington County Medical Examiner, Doctor Ian Hood conducted autopsies today and the reports and findings may be released at a later date.

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office continues to review this case. Charges against LePage will be determined by their office if she survives her injuries.
