REMEMBERING KOREA: PBS's National Memorial Day Concert
Executive Producer Jerry Colbert
Fought in the shadow of World War II in a faraway land,
the Korean War left America with a trail of unanswered questions, stories
of horrible atrocities and a need to forget. But for the over 1.5 million
U.S. men and women who sacrificed their freedom, and for the families and
friends of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, the Korean War can never
be called The Forgotten War."
This year, PBS's National Memorial Day Concert commemorates
the 50th anniversary of the Korean War with an all-star salute to the brave
men and women who sacrificed their lives and safety for the cause of freedom.
Hosted by World War II veteran Ossie Davis, the annual holiday event airs
