VINELAND VETERANS MEMORIAL HOME ACHIEVES HIGHEST INSPECTION STANDARDS

The Vineland Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ, received a zero-deficiency report during its annual inspection by the New Jersey Department of Health. "This is the best result any long-term care facility can receive," said Joseph Romano, Chief Executive Officer of the Vineland Home. The three day inspection, which ended today, looked into life and health safety, quality of client care, food service, housekeeping, and meeting patients needs. More than 70% of all long-term care facilities in New Jersey do not meet this exacting standard. Vineland is one of the first veterans homes in the United States and recently celebrated its 100th anniversary of service to NJ veterans.

With this result, all three of New Jersey's veteran's homes have achieved zero-deficiency inspections. The NJ State Veterans Memorial Homes, located in Paramus, Menlo Park, and Vineland, serve about one thousand veterans who require long-term nursing home type care. After achieving "no deficiency" reports the homes can ask to be inspected for advisory standards of care, which are much higher levels of patient care than routine standards.
