About Face Program Graduation

The About Face Program, an after-school program run by the New Jersey National Guard, will have a graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 14 at 4 p.m. in the Plainfield National Guard Armory, 1201 East 7th Street, Plainfield.

New Jersey’s Secretary of State DeForest B. Soaries Jr. will be the keynote speaker with Maj. Gen. Paul J. Glazar, The Adjutant General of  New Jersey providing the welcoming remarks.

About Face is a prototype after-school program for at-risk youth in Plainfield.  Students are recommended by their teachers and applications are reviewed by the Division of Social Services, Union County. Funding for About Face comes from the Union County DARE program. 

The 30 students, 14-17 years old, come to the Armory from 3:30-7 p.m., two days a week for eight weeks.  The next class begins in September.
