Department Celebrates Third Annual Unity Day


Fort Dix, NJ - The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is celebrating its third annual Unity Day on May 10, with displays, activities, food and performances.  It will be held at the 50th Brigade headquarters, 3650 Saylors Pond Road, Fort Dix, N.J.,  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Unity Day celebrates the achievements and contributions of all racial and ethnic groups that make up America.
 
During the celebration, Major General Paul J. Glazar, The Adjutant General of New Jersey, will present the Brigadier General Holsey A. Moorman Diversity Award to Tech. Sgt. Francisco Beltran-Bell of the 108th Air Refueling Wing of the New Jersey Air National Guard.

The Moorman Diversity Award is given to recognize the actions and accomplishments of the member of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs who most closely reflects the standards and ideals set by Brig. Gen. Moorman during his years of service.

Members of the Willingboro High School Willingboro Heritage Players will perform three skits and Robert Yancy, commander of the New Jersey chapter of Buffalo Soldiers will have a display.
