VIETNAM ERA EDUCATIONAL CENTER HOSTS
a film presentation of the play "Dreaming Through the Twilight"

Holmdel, NJ - On Thursday, June 7, at 7:00 p.m., the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation will host a film presentation of the play Dreaming Through the Twilight, at the Vietnam Era Educational Center in Holmdel.  Dreaming Through the Twilight tells the story of Sharon, a young widow whose husband Marty was killed in Vietnam.  While raising their child, who was born after Marty’s death, Sharon struggles with the pain caused by her memories and her thoughts of what might have been.  Months after her husband’s death, Spin, a recently discharged veteran and friend of her husband from Vietnam, calls on Sharon to offer his condolences.  Confusion, pain, anger, frustration, and guilt—familiar emotions for those who served and for those who waited—are portrayed, as both Sharon and Spin struggle to find some measure of acceptance and understanding, a peace with themselves, each other, and Marty.

“Dreaming Through the Twilight”, written by Tom Tunnington, was originally produced by Proteus Productions Inc. at The Theatre in Howell during October 2000.  Tunnington, a resident of Bricktown, served in Vietnam with the US Army, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 52nd Infantry, 198th Infantry Brigade.

Attendees are asked to RSVP one week prior to the event to (732) 335-0033.  A donation of $5.00 per person is suggested.  The Educational Center is located adjacent to the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial off the Garden State Parkway at exit 116.  The Educational Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM. Regular admission is free for veterans and active-duty military personnel.  Regular adult admission is $4.00; student and senior citizen admission is $2.00; and children under 10 are admitted free.
