Staff Sgt. Metz, a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crew chief, with the 1159th Medical Company (Air Ambulance), New Jersey Army National Guard, located at Trenton-Mercer Airport, was part of the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter flight crew that brought the film crew to the Ocean City Airport for the filming of the training video. The video is on the maintenance of the Advanced Flight Control Computer or AFCC, which is used on the UH-60 Blackhawk. The Advanced Flight Control Computer takes signals from the navigation computer and transmits them to the flight control computer onboard the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter. Tom Clancy provided the introduction to the training video. The 1159th Medical Company was instrumental in the recovery
operations following the attack on the World Trade Center. On Sept.
11 and the ensuing days, pilots and crews from the 1159th flew FBI, FEMA,
and other federal and state agency teams in support of Ground Zero recovery
operations.
