Mary Carroll received the award for her “dedication and dependability to the residents and staff of the Veterans Memorial Home. (Her) professionalism, knowledge and on the unit accessibility has created an avenue of communication between the nursing office and the nursing staff. (She helped) write new standards to keep up with the changing health needs of the veterans they serve.” The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs which is the state headquarters
for both the New Jersey Army and Air National Guard and responsible for
the administration of state veterans programs, has more than 1,500 employees
at 60 locations throughout the state.
