Clinton Resident, DISCOM Commander,
Honored for Serving as Editor-in-Chief
CLINTON, NJ - Col. John Dwyer was recently honored for serving as editor-in-chief of the New Jersey National Guard magazine, GUARDLIFE. The publication won first place in the National Guard Media Contest 2000, in the funded newspapers, magazine format portion of the competition. Dwyer served as the New Jersey National Guard State Public Affairs Officer from July 1995 to April 2002. During that period, while he was editor, GUARDLIFE placed in the top three newspapers in the media contest five of those six years. The presentation of the 2000 award was delayed until October 2002 because no national Public Affairs Conference was held in 2001 due to unit mobilizations in the wake of 9-11-01. COL Dwyer left the Public Affairs Office earlier this year and is currently the Commander of the 42d Division Support Command, based in Somerset, N.J. He resides in Clinton, Hunterdon County, N.J. |
