Local Resident Chosen Employee
Of The Year
PLAINFIELD, NJ - On Wednesday, April 24, Plainfield
resident Velda Forde was selected as the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home
2001 Employee of the Year.
Col. (ret.) Michael Smith, New Jersey Department of Military
and Veterans Affairs (NJDMAVA) Chief of Staff presented Velda Forde, a
Principal Clerk with the Minum Data Set Office, the award, during a ceremony
at the Lawrenceville National Guard Armory.
Velda Forde has been with Home since 1978 where she serves
as clerical support to the Minum Data Set coordinator assisting in meeting
schedules and also serving as a medical appointment clerk for 12 consulting
medical specialists and four interns who serve the Home’s residents.
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs which
is the state headquarters for both the New Jersey Army and Air National
Guard and responsible for the administration of state veterans programs,
has more than 1,500 employees at 60 locations throughout the state.
