Local Resident Chosen Employee
Of The Year
ORANGE, NJ - On Wednesday, April 24, Orange resident
Ruby Nickie was selected as the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home 2001 Employee
of the Year.
Col. (ret.) Michael Smith, New Jersey Department of Military
and Veterans Affairs (NJDMAVA) Chief of Staff presented Ruby Nickie, Supervisor
of Nursing Services – A/B Units, the award, during a ceremony at the Lawrenceville
National Guard Armory.
As Unit Manager and a nurse with more than 40 years of
experience Ruby Nickie is responsible for two units with 54 residents at
the home as well as the staff that manages and sustains those residents.
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs which
is the state headquarters for both the New Jersey Army and Air National
Guard and responsible for the administration of state veterans programs,
has more than 1,500 employees at 60 locations throughout the state.
