NJ Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony 
and Scholarship Presentation

WHERE: New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial, Memorial Lane, Holmdel, NJ
at the Garden State Parkway exit 116 (PNC Bank Arts Center).

DETAILS: Daniel J. Edwards, of Rumson, is the president of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation. Edwards is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Edwards served as a forward observer with D Company, 2nd of the 5th battalion, 1ST Air Cavalry Division in 1971-1972. He is vice president of NUI Environmental Group, Inc., a subsidiary of NUI-Elizabethtown Gas. He has served in this capacity since 1996 and is responsible for both domestic and international project development.

Also participating in the program will be Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 200, Chaplain Joseph Formola of the Vietnam Veterans of America, NJ State Council, and bagpiper Tim Mulvaney of Parsippany. There will be a wreath-laying portion of the program.

The Friends of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial will also be awarding two $2,500 college scholarships during the ceremony. The scholarship recipients are Allison Layman of Teaneck, graduating from Teaneck High School, and Stephanie Pierce of Burlington, graduating from Burlington City High School. 

The Vietnam Era Educational Center, adjacent to the Memorial, will be open free of charge 10 AM – 2 PM on Memorial Day. The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial is open 24 hours, 7 days. The Educational Center is regularly open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM. Admission is free for veterans and active-duty military personnel. Regular adult admission is $4.00, student and senior citizen admission is $2.00, and children under 10 are admitted free.
