Details: The 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National
Guard, based at Atlantic City International Airport, will dedicate one
of its F-16 jet fighter aircraft to the citizens of Galloway Twp in a ceremony
at the base. The aircraft dedication program symbolizes the strong ties
that exist between the wing and its communities and the outstanding support
those communities have shown the unit. Many members of the 177th live in
these communities and, as citizen airmen, “We wish to use this opportunity
to reassert the important connection between the communities from which
we come and the missions we fulfill around the world,” stated Col. Michael
Cosby, Commander, 177th Fighter Wing. “What better way to show our appreciation
than dedicating one of our aircraft which has been a time-honored tradition
since the earliest days of aviation.”
