New Jersey National Guard Honored By Congressman Rush Holt

Sullivan and 10 New Jersey National Guardsmen received the flag, which was flown aboard a 776th C-130 aircraft while it flew missions to Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The flag was awarded to the New Jersey National Guard for its support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle.

The New Jersey National Guard has been deployed worldwide since Sept. 11 in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle.  New Jersey Army National Guard units have performed bridge and tunnel, airport, and nuclear power plant security while New Jersey Air National Guard units have been involved in combat air patrol missions over the Northeast Corridor.  The New Jersey Air National Guard has also deployed to various countries including Afghanistan, Oman, Germany and Cuba in support of the ongoing war on terrorism.
