Department Team Up to Support Kids
JERSEY CITY, NJ - The New Jersey National Guard is teaming up
with the Jersey City Recreation Department and the Department of Human
Services to provide the youth of Jersey City with a safe and hospitable
location to enjoy sports and craft activities after school.
The Jersey City Armory will continue to be used for National Guard operations,
however, each afternoon it will also be a recreation center for the kids
featuring baseball, volleyball, football and craft areas.
Brigadier General Glenn K. Rieth, The Adjutant General for the New Jersey
Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, will participate in a press
conference on Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. at the Jersey City Armory announcing a
tri-party agreement between the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs,
the Department of Human Services, and the Jersey City Recreation Department.
The Jersey City Armory is located at 678 Montgomery Street, Jersey City.
