Hammonton Resident Sgt. 1st Class David Powell Receives Meritorious Service Medal

The 250th Forward Support Battalion is a maintenance company that comprises 49 personnel and is part of the Division Support Command, which supports the 50th Brigade.  The 250th has been in Hammonton since November 1996 when it replaced the 144th Supply Battalion, which was deactivated that same year.  The 250th was part of the New Jersey Army National Guard’s support of police security at key Port Authority facilities in New Jersey including the George Washington Bridge, and the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
