Milliken Assumes Command of DISCOMOn Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., Colonel Kent Milliken will assume command of the New Jersey Army National Guard’s Division Support Command (DISCOM). The “Change of Command” will take place at the National Guard Armory located at 1060 Hamilton Street in Somerset (Franklin Township), New Jersey. Colonel John A. Dwyer will relinquish command. Brigadier General Kenneth Wondrack, Assistant Division Commander, 42nd Infantry Division, will preside over the traditional military ceremony. Colonel Milliken currently serves as the G-1 / DPCS (Director of Personnel and Community Services) for the New Jersey Army National Guard and is assigned full-time at the New Jersey Army and Air National Guard Consolidated Headquarters at Fort Dix. He received his BA degree from York College of Pennsylvania and currently is pursuing a Master of Science in Administration degree through Central Michigan University. He is also a graduate of the Army’s Command & General Staff College. DISCOM provides combat support and combat service support to units of the New Jersey Army National Guard as well as units of the 42nd Infantry Division located throughout the northeast. Colonel Milliken, a former Commander of the 25oth Signal Battalion. His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal. The veteran of 4 years of active duty with the United States Army’s 2nd Armor Division has served for more than 22 years with the Army National Guard. He and his wife Dee reside in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
