The New Jersey National Guard has been working tirelessly to collect, transport, palletize and fly precious supplies of water down to New Orleans.  Water will be collected today and Monday only between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

      To date, Guard members have consolidated and flown 11 flights of approximately 13,000 cases of water down to New Orleans, in the heart of all the devastation.  Four to five flights a day are scheduled and will continue as warranted.  Each flight can hold up to 1,200 cases of water.  It is estimated that at least two-dozen more missions can be flown with the water that has already been collected if requested to do so by those in charge of the relief efforts.

      As a reminder, those wishing to donate water may do so at the locations listed. Water must be in cases so that it can be palletized and loaded on the aircraft as swiftly as possible. No donations other than water will be accepted at this time until we have specific requests from the affected states.
