Medford Resident Joins New Jersey Army National Guard

Ascher (left) upon his enlistment in the New Jersey Army National Guard at Fort Dix on May 29. Pvt. Ascher, who is currently a student at Shawnee High School, has been assigned to 250th Support Battalion Forward located at the National Guard Armory in Bordentown. After he attends Basic Training Pvt. Ascher will attend technical school to be trained as a Light Wheel Mechanic. Light-wheel mechanics supervise and perform unit maintenance and recovery operations on gasoline and diesel fueled light-wheeled vehicles. Individuals interested in joining the New Jersey Army National Guard and want to attend college tuition free, while earning a part-time income and serving their community, state and nation should call Sgt.
