Manahawkin Resident Receives Medal

received the award for outstanding performance as the Assistant Operations
Officer for the 57th Troop Command, New Jersey Army National Guard from
Oct. 27, 2000 to Feb. 28, 2003. "His dedication to duty, excellence
in performance and tenacity in pursuit of safe mission accomplishment
allowed the battalion and its subordinate units to maintain the readiness,
morale and strength essential for the defense of our community, state
and nation," stated Lt. Col. Jorge Martinez, Commander, 119th Corps
Support Battalion. The Army Achievement Medal is awarded to members of
the armed forces who, while serving in any capacity with the Army in a
non-combat area distinguish themselves by meritorious service or achievement. |
