Franklinville Resident Joins New Jersey Army National Guard

Pio enlisted in the New Jersey Army National Guard at Fort Dix on May 9. Pfc. Pio is scheduled to attend Basic Training at Fort Jackson, S.C. through the New Jersey Army National Guard’s split option training program for high school juniors. Kyle is currently a junior at Delsea Regional High School. After completing Basic Training and high school requirements, he will attend specialized training next year as a Radio Operator-Maintainer. Radio operator-maintainers supervise, install, operate, and perform preventive maintenance checks and services and unit level maintenance on assigned amplitude modulation radios, enhanced position locating and reporting system net control stations, radio teletypewriter assemblages, and Army Special Operations communications systems, to include communication security devices and associated equipment. Pfc. Pio has been assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 5 th and 117 th Cavalry located at Vineland. Anyone
