Jersey Guard's 112th Field Artillery To Host Open House
The “Wolf pack is back from Iraq” and the Soldiers of the New Jersey Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery will be hosting a fun-filled Open House at the National Guard Armory located at 1200 Whitesville Road, Toms River, on Saturday, June 18, starting at 10 a.m.
As part of the day's activities, the recently returned Guard unit will present “The History of the Army National Guard”, an exciting program that includes paint ball demonstrations, contests, physical fitness competitions, as well as Revolutionary War and Civil War re-enactors. Jeffrey Rodriquez, an actor who appeared in the movies Gettysburg and Gods and Generals also will be featured at the event.
Present-day Soldiers also will be demonstrating simulated combat missions.
Prizes will be awarded in many of the competitions during the free admission / open-to-the-public event. Several Ocean County civic and municipal organizations will be on-hand to provide services and information on programs such as the Child Identification Program. A blood drive will also be conducted.
The event is being sponsored by Tippman Sports, Bob Kislin's Sporting Goods, the Lakewood Blue Claw Baseball Team, Central Jersey Blood Bank, Oxygen Supply Company, South East Elks National Veterans Service Commission, Grand Lodge of New Jersey Free & Accepted Masons, ICCI, LiteNet Express, East Coast Flags and PMI - distributors of RPS Marballizers.
