Media wishing to attend are asked to register with Staff Sgt. Barbara Harbison by calling (609) 530-7088 no later than 4 p.m., Friday, March 11. Details: On Sunday, March 13th at 11:00 a.m., 50 members of the 4th Platoon (HET), B Company, 50th Main Support Battalion, New Jersey Army National Guard, will return to their National Guard Armory in Dover after successfully completing their year-long deployment to Iraq. The unit is comprised of Heavy Equipment Transport (HET) tractor-trailer vehicles capable of transporting payloads up to 70 tons, which includes tracked vehicles such as tanks and armored personnel carriers to various locations to and from the battlefield.
Family, friends and the local community will honor the troops during a Homecoming parade, which will originate at the Rockaway Township Mall and end with a ceremony at the Dover Armory. Rockaway Township Mayor Lou Sceusi and other state and local officials are scheduled to participate.
Media and public planning to attend are asked to arrive no later than 10:00 am to ensure a good vantage point for the day's activities. Media are reminded that the ceremony will take place at the armory only. |
