Hundreds Of Veterans Expected For Dedication Of State World War II Memorial In Trenton
WHO/WHAT: The dedication of New Jersey's long-awaited World War II Memorial will take place tomorrow. Governor Jon S. Corzine will join hundreds of veterans and their families for the dedication.
Groundbreaking for the New Jersey World War II Memorial occurred on March 15 2008 with construction scheduled for completion on Dec. 30. The cost of the New Jersey World War II Memorial is $7.6 million. The primary sculptor is Thomas Jay Warren who previously sculpted the centerpiece at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Mourning Soldier and Medal of Honor bas reliefs at the New Jersey Korean War Veterans Memorial in Atlantic City.
WHEN: Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: West State Street, across from the State House, Trenton
Media will be allowed to park on either side of West State Street, which will be closed for the event. |
