Lenape High School Students To See National Guard NASCAR Show Car At Fort Dix
WHO: Forty Lenape High School Junior ROTC students
WHEN: Thursday, February 15 at 9:30 a.m.
WHERE: Joint Training and Training Development Center, Fort Dix
WHAT: The students are touring the National Guard training facility and will get opportunities to use several of the simulators used by the military. The National Guard #25 NASCAR show car is making a stop at Fort Dix the same day and the students will learn about the technology and team work needed to be successful in auto racing.
DETAILS: Beginning in 2007, the National Guard joined forces with Hendrick Motorsports to sponsor the No. 25 Chevrolet driven by Casey Mears in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. Mears, 28, will debut with the National Guard team on February 18 at Daytona Beach. He was runner-up in the 2006 Daytona 500.
The media will be escorted from the Fort Dix Visitors Center on Route 68.
