WHO/WHAT: The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority appointed by Governor Corzine will meet for the first time.
WHEN: July 14, 2006 at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Gibbs Hall, Building 2000, Tinton Avenue, Eatontown
DETAILS: On April 28, 2006, Governor Jon S. Corzine signed into law legislation creating the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority (FMERPA). The legislation established a ten member planning authority mandated to develop a revitalization plan to address the closure of Fort Monmouth by the Department of Defense's 2005 Base Realignment and Closure recommendations.
The membership of the FMERPA includes the Mayors of the Eatontown, Oceanport and Tinton Falls; a member of the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders; the New Jersey Secretary of Commerce; four members appointed by the Governor and a Department of Defense representative. The Department of Defense representative serves in a non-voting advisory capacity.
Friday night's agenda will cover the administrative details essential to the establishment of a newly-formed public authority. In addition, there will be time provided for public comment. |
