Memorial Day Ceremony And Dedication

 

 

 


      On Saturday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. a Memorial Day parade, ceremony and dedication will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown (Arneytown), N.J. 08562.

 

      All events are free and open to the public. All activities will be outdoors, without cover. Seating is limited.

 

      The annual Memorial Day commemoration ceremonies will begin with a parade of color guards from various veterans organizations led by the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery Joint Honor Guard.  Other highlights include the 63rd Army Band, a fly-over of F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard; a 21-gun salute; and the presentation of memorial wreaths by representatives of more than 30 veteran and service organizations.

 

      Also, the cemetery's new state-of-the-art Administration and Maintenance Complex will be dedicated in honor of New Jersey 's own Major Francis X. Burke, World War II recipient of the Medal of Honor.  Since its opening in 1986, more than 38,000 veterans and family members have been interred at the cemetery, the busiest of its kind in the nation with an average of 12-14 burials occurring each day.
