Media Advisory 5-117th Cavalry To Hold Freedom Salute And Open House
On Sunday, Sept. 18, beginning at 10 a.m., the New Jersey Army National Guard and its 50th Brigade will hold a Freedom Salute Ceremony to honor the Soldiers of B Troop, 5th Squadron, 117th Cavalry, their families and those who supported them during their mobilization and deployment to support the Global War on Terrorism at the National Guard Armory in West Orange located at 1315 Pleasant Valley Way.
In addition, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the unit will hold an open house with displays, booths and special events for children of all ages.
The events are free and open to the public.
The Freedom Salute Campaign is the one of the largest Army National Guard recognition endeavors in history, designed to publicly acknowledge Army National Guard soldiers and those who supported them during the President's call to duty for recent military operations.
