The OMS-7 placed fifth against all Army National Guard Organizational Maintenance Shops throughout the entire country. Brig. Gen. First place went to the Unit Training Equipment Site in South Carolina. The award recognizes active-duty, guard and reserve Army units that demonstrate excellence in their maintenance programs.

OMS-7 was also the AAME winner for the New Jersey Army National Guard Organizational Maintenance Shop, as well as the National Guard Bureau Region 1B Competition. The mission of shop is to support all organizations assigned to them by the Surface Maintenance Office with quality and immediate maintenance assistance. "OMS-7 supported various New Jersey Army National Guard units following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center," said Chief Warrant Office 3 Laner. "In addition, the shop supported all the Army Guard units deployed in support of Operation Noble Eagle, which supported New Jersey/New York Port Authority Police Department and the New Jersey State Police at the bridges and tunnels going to and from Manhattan." OMS-7 also supported the various security missions at New Jersey's airports and nuclear power plants.

"As part of it's routine maintenance support for the New Jersey Army National Guard, the shop supported more than 80 domestic action and transportation missions for Company B, 50th Main Support Battalion, totaling more than 84,000 incident-free miles," stated Chief Warrant Office 3 Laner.
