108th Civil Engineer Squadron Deploys for TrainingMcGuire AFB, NJ - On Super Bowl Sunday, January 26, approximately 40 New Jersey Air National Guard members of the 108th Air Refueling Wing's Civil Engineer Squadron will depart for a two week annual training deployment to Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif. The 108th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) will deploy for military training to Camp San Luis Obispo in California to hone the various skills of its Air Guard members. The 108th CES has multiple and varied job skills, many of which will be represented on this deployment. Some of the planned work will be replacing doors, upgrading plumbing, rewiring rooms, etc. There will also be plenty of outside work to include improving the grounds, parking lots, and roads on the base. The squadron's members are often qualified in multiple skills. This will be the case in San Luis Obispo; plumbers assisting carpenters, electricians assisting heating and ventilation people, etc. The 108th CES "Guardians of Freedom" will use this training opportunity to strengthen their job and team building skills. p.m. Please provide the following: Media should report to McGuire’s 24-hr gate, Gate #2, not later than 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26. A public affairs representative will escort all media to the 108th Air Refueling Wing. Interviews with the troops will be between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. Media will also be permitted to cover the troops boarding the unit’s KC-135 Stratotankers as well as the aircraft departure. |
