Commander Of New Jersey Air Guard Unit To Be Promoted To Brigadier General
What: Col. Michael L. Cunniff will be promoted to Brigadier General in a pinning on ceremony.
When: Thursday, August 2, 11 a.m.
Where: The Club Ballroom, 2508 Third St., McGuire AFB, N.J.
DETAILS: Col. Cunniff commands the 108th Air Refueling Wing which has more than 1,400 members and is only one of three “super tanker wings” in the Air National Guard. Cunniff was born in Cedar Grove, graduated from Memorial High School in 1974 and attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology, graduating in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. He has been a member of the New Jersey Air National Guard since 1982, rising through the ranks from 2nd Lieutenant. Accumulating more than 5,000 flying hours, Cunniff has piloted aircraft such as the T-38, F-4, KC-135 and C-32B.
