Employers Visit Army National Guard Soldiers During Pre-Mobilization Process At Fort Dix
WHO: Employers and civic leaders will visit Soldiers of the 50th Brigade Special Troops Battalion headquartered in Port Murray with elements from the Somerset, Westfield and Woodbridge armories.
This Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) visit includes employers from Waste Management, NJ Dept. of Labor, Local 102 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Middlesex County Sheriffs office, Willingboro Police Dept. and West Orange Police Dept.
Civic leaders planning to attend include Congressmen Bill Pascrell and Jersey City Mayor Jerry Healy.
WHAT: This is the first step in preparations to deploy the New Jersey Army National Guard's 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) in June 2008. The Soldiers are going through Soldier Readiness Processing with the assistance of the Joint Readiness Center at Fort Dix . This summer upwards of 3,000 New Jersey Citizen-Soldiers will mobilize in support of the Global War on Terrorism in the largest deployment since World War II.
