Media Advisory: Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony

What: Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

When: Saturday, May 24, 2003; parade at 10:30 AM; ceremony to follow at 11:00 am

A final place of honor for those who served.

The annual commemoration ceremonies will begin with a parade of color guards from various veterans organizations led by the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery Joint Honor Guard. Other highlights include the 63rd Army Band, a Missing Man Formation Fly-over of F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 177th Fighter Wing, New Jersey Air National Guard; a seven-gun rifle salute; and the presentation of memorial wreaths by representatives of more than 30 veteran and service organizations.

The parade and ceremony are free and open to the public. All activities will be outdoors, without cover. Seating is not provided, for your comfort, please bring a lawn chair.

The cemetery was named in honor of BG William C. Doyle on January 3, 1989. Since its opening, more than 28,000 veterans and family members have been interred.
