Irvington resident Pvt. Samuel Sylvain has enlisted in the New Jersey Army National Guard and will serve with the 5th Squadron, 117th Cavalry, located at the National Guard Armory in Vineland, as a human resource specialist, after he completes basic training at Fort Benning, Ga.
