Historian Joins 177th Fighter Wing
Photo Caption: The 177th Fighter Wing, located at Atlantic City International Airport, Egg Harbor Township, has a new historian, Staff Sgt Paul Connors. Staff Sgt. Connors came to the 177th from the 106th Rescue Wing, Grabeski International Airport, Westhampton, N.Y. His credentials include serving as the 1st Air Force historian, where he co-wrote the book Sovereign Skies - the history of 1st Air Force; the 321st Missile, (Minuteman III ICBM) in Grand Forks, N.D., where he was the first Air Guard historian assigned to Space Command and more significantly was the first guard historian to serve at the closing of a missile base. In addition he served with the 366th Wing, Mountain Home, Idaho; was the Joint Task Force Historian for Operation Northern Watch at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey; and was the Year of the Enlisted Force Historian at the Enlisted Heritage Hall, Maxwell Air Force Base, Gunter Annex, Ala. Staff Sgt. Connors, a traditional drilling Guardsman with 16 years experience, is the purchasing manager for a nuclear power plant in White Plains, N.Y. Staff Sgt. Connors has two bachelor degrees, both from Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y., a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Bachelor of Arts in history.
